Midsummer Station

                                                     Midsummer Station

Hi I have been doing 100 word stories  This is my first 100 word  story based on the picture Midsummer Station on pobble 365

For me It was hard to try and make it 100 words only but in the end I finally done it.

In a broken world of dark, grey and misty fog there was only one more spooky Station to live and it was a lost station until a man came across it in his rusty old airplane. He landed on the burnt grass and stepped out to find a dirty waterfall that was flowing to the bottom of the world. He ran inside to find…food, water, even a bed To sleep on. He found a piece of steak on the side table so he picked it up and ate it.He fell asleep on the ground poisoned never to be woken

Sharing My Knowledge of Mood and Atmosphere

Tena Koutou Katoa, I have been learning how the author creates mood and atmosphere of a text. For me it was hard to understand what a vivid adjective is so I asked if one of my friends could explain what it means she said it creates a more detailed picture in your mind. The easy part was to find the verbs and adverbs. Can you analyse a text by it’s mood and atmosphere?

Sharing My Knowledge of T ball

Tena Koutou Katoa,  on  Wednesday November 4th we had our second lesson of Tball with Whaea Kasey. My team was versing Ebony’s team. My team was the first group to get to bat and I was the first person out of my team to bat. For me it was a little bit hard to bat because I didn’t know where to aim the bat at first then it got easier because Whaea Kasey helped me to aim the bat in the right place. Did you know the bases are 60 feet apart in softball, compared to 90 feet for baseball?

Fabulous Fly Cricket

Tena Koutou Katoa,  on the 21st of October a cricket coach called Neal came to Paihia School and showed everyone how to use a cricket bat and how to play a game of speed cricket.
For me It was hard to concentrate on the ball while being in a stance, position and hitting the ball with the bat. It was easier to  be the backstop than hitting the ball. Have you played  speed cricket before?

Some Art I Absolutely love

Hi guys I have an update for the art that I have been doing in class and I am now up to my good copy. For me it can be hard to draw continuous lines because I am use to drawing with my wrist and not with my shoulder. It was hard to blend the colors at the beginning but then I watched a video of how to blend colors together and it got a little easier for me. Have you ever done something like this before?

My Most Amazing Creativity To Share

Kia ora, I have been learning to measure length and area and construct a scale model of a castle. It was hard to make because you had to measure and cut cardboard and tape or glue the cardboard shapes together. The easy thing for me was to make it into a castle. I enjoyed making the castle though. Have you measured out a castle before?

Check Out This Great Music.

Last week in Te Ngahere we started doing Chrome Music Lab which is a site that you can create rhythms music and things like that. We started doing the rhythm lesson, then we moved on to the melody lesson. I found it easy to create a rhythm because I could understand what a rhythm would sound like. I found it a little harder to create a melody because I didn't really know what it sounds like. My favourite lesson was the rhythm lesson because I enjoyed making different rhythms. Here is a link to Chrome Music Lab.Have you used Chrome Music Lab before?

Last week in Te Ngahere we started doing te reo maori for the weather and we started to read a book called Nga Tohu O Tawhirimatea  which in english translates to The Signs of Tawhirimatea. Here's two of the phrases I have been learning  he aha nga tohu o Tawhirimatea mo tenei wiki in english it means what's the weather forecast this week and A te raapa ka heke te ua which in english means on Wednesday the rain will fall. The hardest for me was to get the right pronunciation for the maori words. The easiest for me was to remember which picture goes with the maori kupu. Have you done Te Reo before?

Creative Te Reo Maori DLO

Kia ora, This term we have been making Maori DLOS for sports sentences. We had to learn some phrases about Maori sport sentences to because we had to learn how to pronounce the correct word right. Here are some of the Maori sentences I learnt, I tenei ra, I haere nga tamariki  ki te papa takaro which in english it means The children went to the sports field and here is my favourite one I ako ratou ki te mahi kirikiti which in english it means They learnt how to play cricket. For me it was hard to say the maori words but I practiced over and over again until I said the correctly, also it was easier to find the words than say them.Do you know how to speak Maori?

Angle Tastic

Kia ora Its Mahana, I have done a maths DLO, I have been learning to identify different types of angles. Some of the questions were hard because I didn’t know about angles before, also because some of them had the letters in them so it made it harder. Some were a little easier because my friends told me how to solve angles, I didn't know how to before. I worked with my friend Ebony so it made it easier. Have you ever made a DLO?

You Should Try Your Trickshots Out Right Now !

The last two days we have been doing trickshots me and my group came up with some great ideas like bouncing the the ball of the wood and roll it down some cardboard into the cup. Our other idea was to bounce the ball off the table make it roll down cardboard and then make it go straight and then fall into the cup. We had so much fun doing this activity I hope you have fun doing it to. The hard thing was for me was to make the ball go into the cup because we had the wrong angle for it to get in the cup. The easy thing to do was when we came up with a plan to get the ball in the cup. we worked as a good team. Can you find a creative way to make the ball go into the cup?

I noticed if you looked closely you could see ittle cups also if you look at the gingerbread man you can see different shapes and diagonal lines. For me I thought the hard bit was when I had to make a story about the gingerbread men but the easy thing was when we had to find shapes and maths with are maths eyes.I learnt that when you look between the people that you can see shapes and objects. I felt proud that I noticed the cup in between. It was a really fun thing to do. Using my maths eyes is the best it's amazing and cool. Have you ever used maths eyes before
